Aurora Hills Community & Senior Center

This facility is a combination library, community center, and until March 2008, a fire station. The opening of the new Fire Station 5 helped contribute to a 15 percent decline in energy intensity between 2007 and 2008 (although the old fire station continues as a storage facility). This and operational improvements, including a lighting retrofit in 2011, have cut energy use by nearly 40 percent from 2007.  Gas use for 2012 is artificially low due to problems with the meter early in the year.
