Fairlington Community Center

Fairlington Community Center hosts a variety of activities from daycare, to cooperative extension, to art programs and fitness facilities. Closed for renovation in 2007, the historic Fairlington building reopened in 2008 with new windows, new lighting and new central heating and cooling systems. Electricity use increased after the renovation, mostly due to energy-intensive central ventilation to meet modern building codes. Fairlington Center was retro-commissioned in 2012 and has seen the benefits of this work in the form of reduced energy use.
