The Energy Committee is a subcommittee of the Environment & Energy Conservation Commission (E2C2). The Energy Committee advises the County Manager on Community Energy Plan implementation. The Community Energy Plan is a long-term vision for transforming how Arlington generates, uses, and distributes energy, with an overall goal of reducing County-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2050.
The Energy Committee generally meets monthly at 7 p.m. Though the group strives to meet on the third Tuesday of each month, those dates can vary. The commission sets aside the first few minutes of each meeting for general public comment and encourages residents to provide comments on the community’s energy issues and opportunities. Note: individuals may speak for three minutes; those representing an organization may speak for five minutes.
